It would make sense for the VANs to maintain this registry, since they
allready have that information. Let's say you are given an ISA ID and
don't know who to contact the owner of the ISA ID you could go to a website
to query a Name Service registry maintained and replicated by the VANs.
That would also pave the way to unique ISA ID's across VANs.

I didn't think that EDI Trading Partners actually talk to each other.
In fact, I would say that some of them go out of their way to be
_different_.
I would be happy to setup an EDI Contacts page if someone wants to send me
the
information or the EDI-L admin could create a section on the Yahoo page
where
people could self-submit the information..
