WIlliam Our prices aren't posted, but they are around $6,000 to $10,000. I'll update the page in a few days ;-)
> Gosh, I already have practically all the information I need if I were in > the market for a translator: lots of customers who rave about Softshare > Delta - and a concrete price I can understand. But there is more to consider. Not all products are the same, and features can differ dramatically. We don't do HIPAA. (thank goodness) We don't do XML (yet). Our focus has been on Department Stores. (JCP, Dayton Hudson, Federated, etc.) for SoftGoods and HardGoods Distributors & Manufacturers. In fact, we do all the documents required by the Department Stores listed on the top section of our links page. In addition to translating most incoming documents, we have a mapper for customer specific outbound maps and will automate the turnaround of all of the documents we receive. (850 to 810/856, 850 to 855, 850 to 940/945 to 856, 869 to 870) We have scripts for AS2, ftp, VANs, etc. The problem with the 'mappers' and 'translators', is that they don't do any of the work that has to be done once the documents have been received. For SMEs who have to generate outbound ASNs and Invoices, the built-in database automates the total process. We convert incoming POs into outgoing ASNs (Truckloads, Pallets or Cartons) and print all the required UCC128 labels. I've seen many clients manually typing in all the Carton information into Sterling Commerce Desktop, in order to send out an ASN. What a nightmare. We use the built-in database to print virtually any report or summary the client requires or convert & export the data to their Accounting System. So, when evaluating prices, you also have to compare capabilities. Earl Wertheimer [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.spe-edi.com .
