Hi Meghan, SAP supports EDI as part of Netweaver via the XI 3.0 integration platform and imbedded industry specific EDI adapters. This configuration replaces the old relationship with Web Methods.
The EDI adapters are OEM from Seeburger and the unique value proposition is that all trading partner transaction data resides in the SAP XI repository not a 3rd party DB. This supports SAP analytics of all types as well as the ability to write and deploy business processes in the SAP SCM, SRM, CRM modules that trigger directly from trading partner transactions, responses and non compliance monitoring. Extended Supply Chain Management and BPM that you can't get from stand alone EDI applications. I would suggest you talk to your SAP Account Exec, if you don't get good answers I would be able to introduce you to a local Seeburger representative. We currently do joint sales with SAP in this area and successfully deployed customers include Whirlpool, Master Foods (Effem) and others.
