MQ is a transport - it takes stuff from here and
guarantees delivery to there.  now, if you use MQ to
send data to a translator and from the translator to
somewhere else ... then it's doable.  all of the
larger messaging flow systems that i've done use this
architecture.  it's very real-time friendly. 
unfortunately most of the legacy systems are still
batch oriented, and most of the major translators are
built to process in a batch environment.
