Any chance your using SecuRemote PC Client software for your FTP connection with GXS? My experience was intermittent dropping of the connection and countless problems. Finally decided on a dedicated VPN connection which has worked flawlessly since day one. There is a setup fee of $300 and a monthly fee of $100 I believe (don't quote me on that) but it's been worth ever penny. Small price compared to explaining to management why the PO's, ASN's, invoices and other docs are missing.
