Mapping is 5% of the job. Working with trading partners is more than that.
Once the map is created, you're done. Working with TPs is ongoing. TPs are
people. Maps are bits and bytes and instructions. People have soul. Maps
don't.

Ask your boss to let you go to a mapping class given by your software
supplier, to broaden your understanding of the issues. When you complete
the class, ask your boss for a chance to put your new skills to work.

Or go to work for an outsourcing company. Based on the questions we get
here on the list, they don't require specific expertise.

Subject: [EDI-L] EDI mapping

I currently work in the EDI Tech Support relm. I work with trading partners
and help them track documents. In addition, I read and interpret raw EDI
files on a daily basis. This is getting boring and would like to get more
into the development side of EDI such as mapping and etc. Does anyone have
any ideas on how I would go about doing this?
