We all had to start from somewhere, if you want to make your entry into EDI, I recommend you get an ENTRY LEVEL (means 0 or close to 0 experience) mapper job and from there build your way up. How did you do "a lot of maps" in Gentran if you do not know what X12 is? You would also know as you state "How a edi tool work" and you would know what a "trading partner" is and what an "envelope" then maybe you would do well in your interview.
