Your error rate; do you further distinguish that between data errors and mapping errors? We have a metric of "EDI errors" which made my blood run cold when I was first hired, until I calmed down and realized that these were data-driven inaccuracies that my maps had no control over, and they were called "EDI errors" only to distinguish them from keypunch errors.
On the other hand, errors attributable to a mapping error should be laid at the feet of the EDI group and would be a useful metric. (Except that in most shops, the rate would be nearly zero.) :) We too keep track of uptime; translator and VAN. -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Behalf Of marylopezmail Sent: Thursday, May 18, 2006 2:37 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [EDI-L] Re: <MISC> EDI Metrics We typically report monthly metrics at a very high level: # of Partners (customer vs supplier) # of transactions (all doc types lumped together) Error Rate (% of transactions - indicates how much exception work had to be done and if corrective actions were effective) Avg FA turnaround time by partner Avg PO Ack return time by supplier Van uptime as a % against our published availability hours Management isn't concern with how many maps we use or even how many doc type combinations with each partner - that tends to be numbers that EDI Professionals love to pour over but non-EDI management just can't appreciate. ...
