Hi,
This may not be part of your plan, but if you want to migrate incrementally
instead of big bang, you could always upgrade to Gentran:Unix 6.x first.

This gives you a familiar platform that will run everything just like you are
running it now, but also gives you the Application Integration mapper which is
upwards compatible to GIS. (You do have to go through a separate step to
install the Visual Mapper, so be sure that your upgrade request includes
requesting this CD). In this way you can rewrite your maps for the new
environment while testing the results in your current environment (and even
implementing the maps in production for some or all trading partners).

In the mean time you can be getting familiar with GIS and preparing your
business processes. When you are ready to implement GIS, you will have maps
that can run in that environment.

Just a thought.

Ken
