Michael,

That would be correct. (A)ccepted means all transactions sets
withing the functional group are accepted. (R)eject again applies to all
transaction sets being rejected. (P)artial means that there is a mix of
accepted and rejected transaction sets within the functional group. At
least 1 accepted and at least 1 rejected.

Subject: [EDI-L] Question on '997' Functional Acknowledgement

8/21/06

(Ok, so this is a tad esoteric).....

ANSI 004010
Transaction Set 997 Functional Acknowledgment Segment AK9, Functional
Group Response Trailer Element One, Functional Group Acknowledge code

My standards disk tells me code "P" (Partially Accepted) means "at least
one transaction set was rejected."

If ALL transaction sets in the functional group identified in AK1
segment are rejected (i.e., AK904=0), should AK901 be "P"
(partially accepted) or should it be "R" (rejected) ?

That is, if "P" means "at least one transaction set was accepted,"
does it also imply that "at least one transaction set was (A)ccepted or
accepted with (E)rrors?"

Thanks,
Michael Mattias
