SAP doesn't have any kind of event to trigger message processing automatically. You'll either have to set up a cron job to look for a file and then trigger a SAPEVT.
What in SAP is going to process the status message? Is it a variant or do you have to write custom ABAP code? Disclaimer: OTOH, I've only worked with this crap for two days now.
