LOL - I was talking to somebody recently who related this: Their employer planned to outsource manufacturing to an off-shore contractor. They traveled to the country, interviewed prospective suppliers, obtained samples and bids. They awarded an initial order to one supplier. When the product arrived it was better than the US-made product - but the off-shore supplier insisted on a large price increase because the work was "so hard". The US company was stuck with the product because they couldn't ship it - it was too good and their customers would demand more at that quality. They couldn't pay the increased cost because they had sales contracts and the additional cost would mean they would sell at a loss.
Why are companies so STUPID??? They won't allow us to tele-commute because they think we will cheat them - but they bet the future of the company on suppliers in countries without our business values, over which they have no control, and who have no stake in the future of the client company they contract to work for. The greedy clients deserve all the problems offshoring brings them.
