I have a problem with Datastage TX version 7.5 Database Designer and we are
currently waiting on factory support (in spite of the fact I still hold IBM
Support in high regard).
Using: Database designer version 7.5(119), Windows/XP system, all updates
maintained.
File, new.
New Database
Enter stuff
Test by generating tree.
Save file
File/Close
File/Open, same file. Message box from Database Designer: "Can't open
C:\MCM\Ascential\DatastageTX_7.5\WorldShip\PTMN.MDQ."
Exit program
Try to open via explorer: same problem.
Restart Database Designer, try to open via both "File/Open/Select" and menu
(recent files), same problem.
Then in panic mode, I tried opening (copies of) other "MDQ" files which are
in production and working fine ... same problem.
We originally thought it might be a 'permissions' issue (Windows XP system),
but I can repeat the sequence above with both Map Designer (*.mms) and Type
Designer (*.mtt) in the same folders and everything works 'as expected.'
Is anyone aware of either a "known bug" or some kind of required system
setting? Or even where to look for some ideas?
(Nice helpful error message, huh?)
