I have seen TP's publish more than one ASN spec before, but usually,
USUALLY, a vendor only has to use one. The SOPI/SOIP situation would depend
on how you pack your items. Usually if all of your items are standard packs
you can use SOIP. If you have a combination of both (some are standard packs
some are pick and pack) you can usually use SOPI for all of the shipments.
After all if you can have a mix of standard packs and pick and packs on the
same shipment you can only send one ASN.
I believe the only situation I have seen a TP have multiple specs and expect
everyone to use them is if they have a spec for different locations.
Walgreens for instance has one ASN spec if you are shipping to the DC and a
different spec if you are shipping direct to store. The only way you get
away with one spec and not the other if you are a Walgreens vendor is if you
only ever ship to the one type of location.
Of course there are TP's that are always the except to every general rule.
