Hi Art & Phil,

I'm currently unemployed - my contract with GXS ended in Sept. I have extensive
IT and EDI background. I'm trying to find a position that will let me work
remotely.

I've attached my resume incase anyone knows of an opening.

Thanks,
Toni

Phil,

Sorry to hear that.

Give us a little more to go on - who knows, somebody here may have something
for you. For example, where do you live? Or maybe more importantly, where
do you want to live? What background do you have? I was hired into EDI
because I had a tech background that included mainframe, UNIX scripting, and
business background that included grocery distribution. If you have EDI
exposure and know somebody's business, they may want to hire you.

Start networking. LinkedIn may be a good place for you. Go to
LinkedIn.com, search for me, send me an invitation. Say we know each other
through the group, EDI-L. I'll accept. Then join EDI groups, send out
invitations, etc. Look for people in companies you have worked with. Look
for relatives. Get it? Each person you connect to will have their own
contacts, which become your 2nd & 3rd level contacts. Join trade
associations, tech groups, etc. Register with DICE.com, and keep an eye on
indeed.com.

Good luck.

Subject: [EDI-L] <jobs>

Hi - the dreaded day has come. Layoffs. I would like to keep in contact
with people that I was in contact with from this list, but everything was
left on the employers PC. So next time, I will keep a separate list. At any
rate, I am seeking employemnt now but I don't have a vast amount of EDI
experience, but some. I am open to the opportunity and not looking for top
Dollar but for a chance to grow. My email name was also PKestenbaum for this
group.

I also have a desire to work in related fields such as client/customer
support, or pre-sales. I don't have a star studded EDI resume so it's not a
shot for any quick contractors jobs, or full blown Mapper, but I am looking
to learn a product and help support and perhaps enhance over time. I have
done some mapping in the past but also have been programming applications
mostly. In my last job, I worked with 85-860 data but previously worked with
810, 856 as well.

I would welcome private emails if you think you might want to discuss
further.

Thank you,
Phil Kestenbaum
