Yes, Michael, I CAN do them as Word documents, and I'm actually pretty good 
with Word. But I'd be missing the code lists (think REF segment), the really 
great built-in formatting (as opposed to all those individual tables), and I'd 
increase the potential for typos (thereby looking much less professional than 
desired).

You're right about the money whining, but I know the money's there -- it's just 
a matter of convincing him to spend it on the right things! Thanks for the

First if all, if your boss did NOT whine about "more money" he'd be a pretty 
poor boss. This is one of the first things you learn in boss school.

Second of all, here's a constructive suggestion: "Can't you do them as Word 
documents?"

It's the poor workman indeed who blames his tools!
