Hmmm. I was noticing something as I went through a lot of the postings on
the possible position in Arizona and all of the rest of the back and forths.
Interesting.

I agree with Rich about keeping your PERSONAL and PROFESSIONAL separate as
best you can. Much like Rich, I've got the "pro-side" and the "Me-side" of
so many things I do online.

Sadly, there are too many things that people consider when hiring a person
that have nothing to do with how well they can and will do the job. Does
the fact that (maybe) I love watching Fellini Films diminish the abilities I
bring to EDI.? Nope. Does a penchant for horror films - the gorier the
better - mean that perhaps I won't be able to properly do the job for which
I am hired.? Nope.

Would being a proponent or opponent of the mentioned Arizona law be regarded
in hiring me.? It sure shouldn't be.

As to those that think the Arizona law is racist - at least wait until all
the legal challenges are made and decided before making your final decision.
And I'd suggest that you read the law - just like you would need to read
ANYTHING to understand it - before passing judgment or making remarks. Just
like a posting a few weeks back about "drinking the Facebook kool-aid".
broad-brush statements will usually offend some of the audience, whether you
intend to or not.
