Hmm....

First off, bias declared: I *am* an outsource .....

But it seems to me "lots of TPs, regular new partners  and frequent mapping" 
is exactly the situation for in-house  hardware, software and people.

I think it more likely you can justify the investment in in-house systems 
and personnel at "high volume" and using an outsource makes more economic 
sense at low volume.  After all, why invest in something you are not going 
to utilize all that much?

Long term, the most expensive component is people; perhaps that is why I can 
earn a living.   All my clients have inhouse hardware and software, but call 
me to do anything other than (very) routine maintenance.

Oh, well, I guess that's why they *don't* play the games 'on paper'......
