Boomi would be the first example that comes to mind. They offer a subscription
based integration tool for a monthly fee. Pay "X" amount and you manage both
target and source ends of the project with various features, etc.
Direct EDI has their UHT solution where they have integrated with retailers and
provide hosted mapping tools online to enable users to manage their own back
end integrations and manage workflow. They provide web accounts for these in
addition to the mapping tool so a companies customer service, shipping and
accounting people can use when necessary (create ASN's, labels, pull reports,
etc.). One of their value props is they don't charge suppliers for traffic
when the retailer in question is connected to them via AS2 or FTP (Obviously
they don't charge for traffic between themselves and clients for AS2/FTP).
That includes companies like Walmart, Target, Meijer, Petco, PetSmart and so on
- which is great for companies concerned with traffic costs.
So theirs (Direct EDI's) is a hybrid of the PAAS solution Boomi came up with a
few years ago. The benefit of course is the supplier doesn't have to deal with
the retailer's specifications quite so intently and has built in support. The
question is: who else has this or a similar type of offering? Both seem to
be unique in the industry in that regard as I can't find anyone else offering
the same or similar models. As we watch KC's become cheaper across the
industry and technology easier to use, Direct EDI's platform seems like it
would be fantastic for retail suppliers because they get hosted tools,
integration tools and flat usage for traffic.
I thought I was in the 'know' but I can't find anyone else. Do you know of any
other companies with this type of offering?

That's going to be difficult.
Most AS2/ftp implementations are between end-users and skip the VANs
completely.
They are private and would not supply web accounts.
Walmart does this for their own suppliers only.
There may be some 3rd parties doing this, but if they don't charge for traffic,
how are they going to make money?
Perhaps I misunderstood. Are you looking for 3rd parties or companies doing
this with their suppliers (like WalMart).
