you're confused. CDATA surrounds the data with universally accepted tags that get stripped (or ignored) when displayed in a browser. you need to remove or ignore the pre and post tags when reparsing. CDATA will preserve training and embedded blanks IN THE DATA. go look at the data in an editor and you'll see.
