Anne,
it would be helpful to know what industry your company is in but in general I 
would suggest joining a national trade association for your industry first 
which 
may have a technical committee dealing with ecommerce/EDI.  Unless you have 
some 
burning technical issue it is time consuming to attend X12 and Edifact 
meetings.  Edifact meetings are held globally so you might find international 
travel hard to rationalize.

TGIF!!! I have another question for you all. In your expert opi=
nions do you think it is beneficial to become members of the ASC X12 and UN= 
EDIFACT groups? I am looking specifically for smaller Companies feedback on how 
belonging helped them or if those are unwarranted expeditures.
