The position is responsible for providing enterprise-wide EDI process and configuration solutions within the Jones SI and SAP systems. The incumbent must work with various functional (EDI, Supply, Demand, Finance) and development teams to determine requirements, build an optimal solution and deliver to the satisfaction of the business need. A combination of technologies will be utilized including SI, SAP R/3, BW, and 3rd party tools where appropriate. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. --Gather and document functional requirements --Assist user departments with EDI related projects --Support specific corporate projects related to EDI --Work with analysts/consultants on functional/technical specifications and EDI Mapping Requirement specifications (MRS) --Work with SAP IDOCS / ALE / BAPI / RFC message types --Configure and extend SAP IDOCS --Configure Communication channel adapters (IDOC, FTP, file, RFC, JDBC, HTTP) --Develop/enhance/correct EDI data translation maps for trading partners and transactions --Driving process and system design; providing leadership to others in a support role --Configure, test and implement system solutions --Sponsoring solution design and assisting in achieving buy-in --Developing solution design by building solid Business Processes (BP) solutions and maintaining EDI data translation maps for all trading partners and transactions --Partner with external sources (SAP, other software suppliers and business partners) to design and implement solutions --Participating in testing at all levels (unit, integration and end-to-end testing); designing and driving testing initiatives; develop and execute test plans; provide leadership to others in support role --Communicating project goals, progress, issues and general information via written and verbal mediums as warranted --Lead implementation support efforts; partnering with technology (ie. sw developers) and trading partners to achieve objectives --Provide project management for EDI/SAP development activities as assigned --Review business and technical requirements in a constantly changing dynamic environment --Monitor VAN and overall network and system landscape (SI, SAP, 3rd party) --Perform in a collaborative, integrated project team environment --No direct reports, but may lead others either formally or informally via a matrix organization model- must be able to lead and guide others independent of formal authority ------------------------------------ ...
