As a Canadian living in LA and working for a company in Boston, I would have been happy with either team winning. I'm pleased to say, however, that I'll be in Boston next week enjoying an occasional quaff of some of the city's finest brews. My colleagues will be in good spirits and that's a good thing considering a looming deadline we have to meet together. Boston is a great city. It always makes me smile.
And so is Vancouver. Unfortunately it has a history of this kind of behavior. As beautiful as it is, it's west coast after all, it does have a dark side and that's too bad. We Canadians are not the peaceful, polite, boy scout, feel-goodniks we sometimes like the world to think we are. We did invent hockey, after all, and seem to love nothing better than a good brawl on the ice, or in the streets. Maybe that's why we worked so hard to get universal health care and remain so firmly attached to it. Too much "San Jose Sharks, playoff performers" must have rubbed off during the conference final, eh? MCM [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] ------------------------------------ ...
