Leah, According to what I have read, "Chats that have been taken OFF THE RECORD aren't stored in your Gmail chat history". To me, it looks like 'off the record' is the default. I also posted questions on a Google Forum asking... will the context of a Hangout conversation be searchable via a Google search. (Similar to this groups, www.mail-archive.com/[email protected] <http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]> ) When I get an update from the Google Forum, I'll let you know.
