The question was answered by Katherine G who is a Google employee.  If
you cannot open the above link, she said...

"We do not save the info from a Hangout, nor would it be searchable in
Google/Google+ Search. Only public contents would be searchable, and
private/limite content is only searchable to people you've shared it
with.
As for the Talk API, this is only supported for 32-bit versions, so sit
tight on that. We are aware that users are ready for its accessibility
on 64-bit versions, but it's not available as of yet.
