Hi Earl,

I'm sure someone with GS1 US (or Canada, or wherever) will correct me if 
I'm wrong, but I believe GLNs are issued by GS1 entities. Both you and 
your client will probably run into problems if you try to make one up - 
maybe not as bad as hooking up a box with a fixed IP address to the 
Internet and not coordinating with anyone, but you get the idea. You 
can't register products in a GS1 data pool without one.

That said, unless I'm missing something I'm not sure why your client 
thinks it's your problem. They are the ones who need to get a GLN.
