Are you looking for training or a technical consultant (or both)? You have probably Googled and found a ton of resources on HL7 including HL7.org. HL7 started out being EDI with an XML envelope but it has evolved to be strictly XML and is designed for clinical information typically from medical monitoring equipment and medical devices both wired and wireless. If you get into xrays there is another standard for that called DICOM. If you are getting into the world of clinical healthcare have fun and say hi to Obamacare.
