EDI Application Developer

Job Summary:

The EDI Application developer is responsible for developing EDI System 
components and modifications to existing code in adherence to business 
requirements, technical design specifications and approved department 
standards.   This individual will perform root-cause analysis on reported 
issues and implements solutions to address these issues.  They will also be 
required to perform gap analysis on requests for new or modified programs 
assessing feasibility, time and cost requirements and system compatibility.  In 
specific, this position will be responsible for:

 

·         Provides support and customization for all existing EDI System 
components including translation maps, business processes, service 
configurations, partner configurations and communication processes. 

·         Participates in and assists with all phases of the system development 
lifecycle including requirements, technical design, development, user 
acceptance testing and implementation and creates testing and migration 
procedures to ensure seamless integration of new partners or processes.

·         Supports and develops the monitoring processes to ensure 100% 
production uptime for EDI and related integration systems.

·         Knows and understands the configuration, implementation and business 
operation (transactions and business practices) of the major Integration 
Systems (Example: IBM Sterling Integrator) used by Yankee Candle. 

·         Maintain expertise in EDI systems including translation/integration 
tools, communication protocols, EDI standards (X12, EDIFACT, Tradacoms), 
transactions and best practices.

 

Minimum Requirements:

A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required.
Minimum of 4 years of EDI and related technical experience, with a minimum 2 
years mapping and business process development experience. 
Experience with ANSI X12 EDI, PL/SQL, XML, BPML, FTP, script languages 
required.  
Demonstrated skill with ANSI X12 transactions related to wholesale 
distribution, B2B Integration software tools and protocols and communication 
standards.
Solid customer service skills with strong attention to detail and the ability 
to work independently and function as a member of a team.
Strong problem solving and excellent oral and written communication skills are 
required.
 
Flexibility in work schedule is also required to work on holidays, weekends and 
extended hours with minimal notice and as required by operational need.
