I recommend starting the driver using the UEFI Driver Wizard & the IHV version
of the UDK2010 (not the "complete" build).
http://sourceforge.net/apps/mediawiki/tianocore/index.php?title=Driver_Developer
The UEFI Driver Wizard will help select the proper modules and build templates
with hooks for the features you pick. The UEFI Driver Wizard has a MSI
installer for Windows, or you can get a version for Linux/Mac from SVN:
https://svn.code.sf.net/p/edk2share/code/trunk/DriverDeveloper/UefiDriverWizard/
The IHV distribution of UDK2010 has a limited set of packages, so you don't end
up including unnecessary libraries by accident.
UEFI Development Kit (UDK) 2010 SR1 UP1 - Driver Developer Release:
Reduced distribution of the UDK2010.SR1.UP1 specifically for independent
hardware
vendors (IHV) to use for UEFI driver development. This subset of EDK II packages
is designed to be used with the UEFI Driver Wizard available at tianocore.org.
You can also get some training from the Intel UEFI Community Resource Center:

Subject: [edk2] PCI Option ROM using UDK/UEFI
Hi All,
This is my first post to our Forum list.
I am new to Bios-Firmware and UEFI module.
It would be useful for me,if someone provide more details on my queries,
1) I would like to design a new PCI option ROM for my own customized purpose,so
that I have downloaded
UDK2010.SR1.UP1.Complete.MyWorkSpace.zip.[ I am working on Ubuntu
(Linux)based machine. ]
Also I could able to built all default applications from UDK tools,so I able
to generate .efi images.
2) I have extracted that zip file and it has Base tools and other drivers
functionalities.
3) How do we include my own PCI option ROM source file into UDK source ?
4) Please provide me UDK -source tree structure.
5) If possible, can you please provide me the sample source file for PCI option
ROM.
6) How do we build my own PCI option ROM package using UDK source files?
7) Is Option ROM is platform dependent or Independent?
8) Is it possible to test my new-built option ROM image on Emulator? (as of
now I don't have target board)
Thanks in Advance.
Regards,
Murali.S
