It sounds like you got a working EDK II build environment setup, but... Did you by any chance see these instructions: http://sourceforge.net/apps/mediawiki/tianocore/index.php?title=Using_EDK_II_with_Native_GCC_4.4 It should be pretty quick and easy to setup EDK II on a recent Linux...
