Note that the grub2 patch that ultimately fixed the problem is different from what I may have suggested in the thread. You can download the SRPM from eg. <https://kojipkgs.fedoraproject.org//packages/grub2/2.02/0.8.fc21/src/grub2-2.02-0.8.fc21.src.rpm> and see 0138-reopen-SNP-protocol-for-exclusive-use-by-grub.patch The function you tried to modify (grub_efinet_findcards()) just collects the available network interfaces (ie. SNP instances). The patch referenced above doesn't modify that function; it changes grub_efi_net_config_real() instead.
