The 21st Annual Professional Development Workshop
Multidimensional Analysis of
Qualitative Data:
A One-Day Overview of "Dual Scaling" and Its
Applications
OISE/UT Building, 252 Bloor St. West, Toronto,
Ontario, Canada
Instructor: Dr. Shizuhiko Nishisato,
Professor Emeritus
Date: Friday, March 16, 2001
Time: 9:00-5:00
Rm: 11-164
Sponsored by:
Centre for the Advancement of Measurement, Evaluation,
Research and
Assessment (CAMERA, Director Dr. Tony Lam), CTL, OISE/UT,
University of Toronto
This is an application-oriented workshop for people with a variety of
interests:
*Performance appraisals;
*Analysis of observation/survey/questionnaire data;
*Quantitative analysis of categorical/non-numerical data;
*Market segmentation;
*Multidimensional graphical analysis of health data, taste, preference,
attitudes, stimulus attributes;
*Multidimensional analysis of ranking, sorting, multiple-choice and
frequency data.
No previous training in analysis of qualitative data is necessary. Good
common sense and intuition
will be sufficient. "DUAL3 for Windows" will be used to demonstrate how
easy dual scaling is to
identify sensible and remarkable findings from your research.
