Sounds possible.  The (mean y) is necessary so that the data point for
(mean x) will be centered in the middle of the bin.  The only problem
now is getting Statistica (I'm no pro here) to scatterplot the data,
and automatically doing the bins.  I may be interested in some
information on "Minitab" and "CODE".
