what do you mean by 'gain in information'? WHAT information? i assume on
this survey ... there are many items ... are some more important to get
information on than others? what is it that you are shooting for ...
what information do you already have? has it answered the questions that
you posed initially? you have to think about whether you have sufficient
information already ... and NOT so much about whether the extra Ss gain you
statistical 'significance'
finally, if you are able to send followups ... then you have the ability to
see how your current sample compares to the ones who have NOT sent in their
forms ... so, i would suggest that a better issue to focus on would be how
representative the current sample is compared to the total that you
originally sent surveys to
