I'm not sure exactly what you have in mind but it seems to me that
bootstrap is going to computationaly prohibitive to use with
MLP's...this is also likely true for jackknife. I think these methods
(usually) are not so practical when it is computationally expensive to
fit your model as is the case with MLP's. I like using bootstrap or
jackknife with kernel/nearest neighbor classification/regression.
