I have been responsible for evaluating warez for our laboratories. We have
come to refer to JMP as JNK. In my opinion the best of breed for data
analysis is a combinaion of MODDE 5.0 and SIMCA-P 8.0 from UMETRICS (Sweden)
They have a web site. I don't have the exact URL at hand but Search on MODDE
or SIMCA or UMETRICS will get you there. If that doesn't woek E-mail me.
Note: I don't work for or sell their Stuff. SIMCA is REALLY REALLY good for
general data exploration including time series. The PLS, PCA, Gen Reg,
Wavelet, and OSC tools are terrific. You can get as close to the "BYTES" as
you care to. BTW, I am and old RS/1 jockey. I discounted SAS years ago after
taking a 3 day seminar on the error that SAS produces (like negative sums of
squares!) JNK does not scale factors as you might expect. It's "pretty" but
the designers OBVIOUSLY haven't worked at the bench.
