Hi I need some help with regards to extrapolation. the two specific tehcniqies i need to know about is extreme value theory and tail extrapolation. What i need to know is what those techniques are about using a simple application. i am doing some work in digital communications in the estimation of thje bit error rate probability. So I might use either EVT or tail extrapolation to carry out the estimation. Any references will be appreciated. Also i do not have access to Gumble's book on EVT.
