derek ... here is a question that you need to answer:

if it is not required AND is not a prerequisite to any other course AND we 
know that most students HATE statistics (via not liking math) ...

WHO WILL TAKE THIS COURSE???

will all your effort go for naught?

IF all you are hoping to do is to provide, to those who MIGHT want to 
explore stat a bit ... and way for that to happen ... then give them a page 
of links to the dozens and dozens of online textbooks ... courses, that 
already exist ...
