Dear Colleagues: If you are involved in Quality Assurance or Reliability activities, then please consider joining the Quality, Statistics, and Reliability (QSR) section of the Institute for Operations Research and Management Sciences (INFORMS). INFORMS is a 12,000 member society representing professionals in the fields of Operations Research and the Management Sciences (OR/MS) and in related fields such as Information Technology. INFORMS is dedicated to advancing the development and dissemination of all aspects of OR/MS. The QSR section of INFORMS was created for members with more focused interests in the areas of Quality Assurance, Reliability, and Industrial Statistics. The QSR mission is to encourage discussion and interaction among individuals having a common interest in these areas. Benefits of joining INFORMS and QSR include: * Conferences and meetings to learn the state-of-the-art in Quality/Reliability Assurance practice; * Interaction with leading academic researchers and industrial practitioners in Quality/Reliability Assurance; * Job placement services; * Membership directory with a listing of every INFORMS member by employer, geographical region, and alphabetically; and * Group insurance programs. Make a note on the application stating that you would like to join only QSR. The cost of QSR membership alone is $10, and the $99 INFORMS membership fee is not applicable. To join both INFORMS and the QSR section, fill out the application form according to the instructions. The cost of joining INFORMS is $99 for regular members and $25 for student/retired members.
