Millisecond - psychological experiment generator?? - yeah right - $745 per
copy
SuperLab - their website has little or no real information about the
product. Its price is $875 per copy.
ECHIP - Not biased are you Bob? The software looks nice enough based on the
website, but I called to check the price - $1400 for one copy!!
Come on guys, what software does most of the world use to do DOEs? My guess
is its a combination of MINITAB (best all around in my opinion), JMP (very
good), Statistica (big, powerful, hard to learn, lots of modules),
StatGraphics (still hanging in there - actually very nice software), SAS
(argh!), S-Plus (slightly less argh!).
You can purchase a single copy of MINITAB or JMP for under $1000, get a top
notch DOE package, AND get a first rate Statistical Analysis package along
with it as well.
I just can imagine spending $800-$1400 for a dedicated DOE package and still
having to go purchase a general stat package.
P.S. You can download a FULL working copy of MINITAB from their website
www.minitab.com and try it for yourself. The only catch is it stops working
after 30 days.
Try it - you'll like it. I have a building full of engineers who have used
StatGraphics, then JMP, and now MINITAB, and, based on a combination of
functionality and ease-of-user (very important for them) they definitely
like MINITAB the best.
