Alternative: Have you tried reading the textbooks?

Buying a text is cheaper than paying for a course, and
browsing in the library is even cheaper. If you have the
library option available, I suggest trying 3 or 4 books
instead of just one -- you might have some choice of the
math (matrix or closer to algebra), among the several books
that have been written by psychologists.

If a topic in one book seems to be over your head, you might
find the same thing to be explained better in the second book.
By checking the shared vocabulary, you can improve the choice
of Keywords that you might search for on-line, if you want to
seek explanations on the web.

One reason for a class: It does help to have someone on hand
(teacher, expert) who can lead you past the tougher spots
(assuming the teacher is expert).
