Although Spearman is a special case of Pearson, the result will be significantly different if you run both analyses with continuous data. Continuous data will be converted to ranked data (6.7, 5.3, 2.1 are converted into 3, 2, 1) first before Spearman rank-order correlations are calculated.. That is the reason why you have different results.
