don't forget to consider ... if your institution has a guru who manages/sets up regular listservs ... to set up a list ... simple email list ... that students could use and you could use

i find that if one can use regular email clients ... like eudora ... it makes the looking and responding to messages much simpler ... rather than having to use a WEB interface

but, that's just my opinion

once, a number of years ago .... i ran an intro stat course by email ... called INTROSTAT (not functional anymore ... ) ... where i did the lead presentation and discussions of the topics ... then, others who were subscribed (about 300 at one point) would chime in ...

it clearly offered some challenges and, now and then i would post a graph (etc) to a web url ... but, for the most part ... it was all done via email

you can do a lot by simple email
