Juergen: the i386 installer ISO won't even boot anymore. From what i can see, the i386 kernel is now requiring cmov support. (Incidentally, I decided to try tiny core linux instead for this system - I now have a working system in 50MB instead of the 2.8GB that Ubuntu installed, and it boots in a tenth of the time. I highly recommend trying it for this old hardware).
