Hi @ all !

First, sorry for my not perfect english and for maybe double-posting ... i
didn't noticed that i had to subscribe to the mailing-list, i just used the
nabble-forum;(

So here is my problem...
I installed a debian(etch)-Xen-system and up to now it works, which means
that i got a domU running which serves my local net with dhcp and so on ...

The domU in which the EFW2.1 runs, starts with the 2.6.18-4-xen-686-kernel
and allthough some error-messages appear at boot time i can connect via
broser to the efw or by ssh if i enable it :)
In this way(browser) i configured the efw to fit my circumstances .. at
moment just one LAN (green) and no DMZ or WLAN

Well, I'm not a complete noob what affects Linux and network-administration
but i just don't know how to handle the following error ... so propably my
knowledge-base is too small ;()

To come to the point ...
When the efw tries to connect, it gives me this error-message in the log :
/var/log/uplinks:
###################################
Couldn't open pty slave /dev/pts/0: No such file or directory
Using interface ppp0
Connect: ppp0 <--> /dev/ttyp0
pppoe: Timeout waiting for PADO packets
Modem hangup
Connection terminated.
ERROR: Could not bring up link 'main'

iptables: No chain/target/match by that name
Successfully shut down link 'main'
iptables: No chain/target/match by that name
iptables: No chain/target/match by that name
#################################

But i got a cookie ... what ever that means ... (i think it means the modem
can talk to the provider ?! )

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~ # pppoe -A -I eth1
Access-Concentrator: HN-XDSL
Got a cookie: 18 aa e4 52 a3 e5 5b 12 2e 80 6b 99 01 cc bc 0e

Has anybody an idea what is wrong in my configuration ???
Maybe the line
Connect: ppp0 <--> /dev/ttyp0
has something to mean ??
Shouldn't ppp0 try to connect via eth1, or is this /dev/ttyp0 ?!
...as i said, i'm not a noob but also not a pro ... maybe more a noob ^^

Well, i would appreciate very much any ideas solving my problem or giving me
a hint !
Regards,
funki

P.S. to complete it ... i'm writing this lines while i'm using a standard
router (Eumex704PCLAN)
So, it can't be a problem with the cable or my provider ;)
And if u need some more informations about my system ... just ask ;) ... i
need really help !

PPS: Could anybody please tell me if it's correct that the pppo tries to
connect via /dev/ttyp0 or not !!!
