As I said earlier, EFW is rpm based, so you don't need a compiler. You really
don't want to install a compiler on a firewall. If you insist on compiling
things, you can run the development stuff on another box and create rpm
packages for the firewall that you seem to insist on doing harm to.Or you just
need to find the relevant rpm packages and install them. It looks as if EFW
will use Centos 4 packages, so you can try those.
But you really might break the firewall. If the box is that powerful, and you
insist on doing this, why not install something like VMWare server or use Zen
and create virtual machines. Run EFW in one of them, and run another copy of a
regular linux distribution with your database.

Did I say that you will have a less effective firewall?
