Yes, dnsmasq is great. We are very happy with it.

That's simply because of to few time. We never used dnsmasq as dhcp
server because
we never tried. The dnsmasq author implemented that functionality later than
dhcpd has been integrated (years ago, by ipcop people). dhcpd since then
is running
ok and is well integrated, thus we did not change it, since there were other
functionalities we needed to work on.

I personally don't know if dnsmasq actually could *completely* replace
ISC dhcpd. If
it can, it would be surely a try. At the other hand, ISC dhcpd is *the*
DHCP server
and there may be features we can't implement without it. Probably.

I took a look at the code. It is written very clean. My compliments. I
will test
it later and integrate it then.
Besides.. The openvpn server integration is doing it the same way, with
a little
python script which will be triggered on connect of a client.
