Hmm, I got those errors with my 3ware controller. It was caused by a bios setting. There is a bios section in some boards called PCI/PNP. In that section is a setting called PCI Latency Timer. If that setting is set to 64, (or higher) it caused drive errors for me. Set it to 32.
However, drive problems can also be caused by bad drives, bad ram, or even bad power supplies. If the equipment is new, its less of a worry, but if it's a couple of years old, it can become faulty. You can d/l and run memtest86+ to see if it's the ram.
