Hi Folks,
I have a problem where an onboard NIC has dies and I have added a new
one but want to give it the same name ( i.e. eth1 ) as the failed
interface so I do not have to recreate my whole config.
I found that I can do the rename by entering the relevant MAC address in
/var/efw/ethernet/mactab, the problem now is that when the machine comes
up this interface does not get an active link, though if I leave it at
it's original name eth2 it does it's link is active.
Any suggestions as to how I can resolve this?
Thanks in advance.
Glyn
