Dear Projectmembers,
We, the eGroupWare admins, still think the most democratic way to
settle the current situation is to vote on it.

Beside all of the reasons we have stated so far, the current
discussion on the lists has not resulted in an acceptable resolution.
But, it has instead added one more reason to continue with the vote:

If we follow the path to merge the Tine sources into the eGroupWare
svn, we ultimately will have to give every Tine developer access to
it. This means they become eGroupWare members and that the proposed
vote by Tine (which codeline should become the next release, planned
for the first quarter of 2008) can be simply won by requesting svn
access for enough Metaways employees.

We feel the current project members should decide this, and we are
certainly willing to accept the outcome. In fact, everyone will have
to deal with and accept the outcome, whatever that may be.

We understand that many of you are very reluctant to vote on this
matter. But, in our understanding it has to be done, and it has to be
done now.

We want to add that what we said about the relationship between the
two projects/efforts is of course still valid after the vote.

Having said the above, our call to vote from the 12th December still
stands:

Your eGroupWare admins

Ralf Becker, Pim Snel, Miles Lott
